Disable unneeded services
From SubfireWiki
Red hat will install extra software that is unnecessary for our use and may delay system startup.
Services can be disabled by using the "red hat" menu on the bottom left of the screen and browsing to System Settings/Server Settings/Services.
These services can be disabled without any problem:
- hpoj
- netfs
- nfslock
- pcmcia
- portmap
- sendmail
Disable MAC address binding by going to the red hat, then System Settings/Networking. Select each ethernet device and click edit. Select the "Hardware Device" tab, and uncheck "Bind to MAC Address."
After the system is completely set up, kudzu can probably be disabled, too.
